About Calvary Chapel East
Calvary Chapel East is a small church that has been servicing the Albuquerque area for over 20 years. Our church focuses primarily on God and His word. Following this, we have numerous in-reaches and out-reaches to serve the individuals within the church and outside of the church.
History
Our church has moved several times through out its history. For a significant amount of time Calvary Chapel East was located near the University of New Mexico on Lead Ave in a large school building. From this locatin the church moved to the heights area of Albuquerque in the Skyview center on Tramway Blvd. From this location the church has been moved to Indian School Rd near Tramway, in the old Blue Cross center.
Calvary Christian Academy
For nearly as long as Calvary Chapel East has existed the Academy has existed hand-in-hand. It has long been Georgie Cowan's vision to create a Christian place of education and learning whoes values parrallel the church's. Recently, the Academy and the Church have merged into a single building located on Indian School Rd.

Daughter Churches
Calvary Chapel East strongly seeks to raise up disciples and ultimately leaders from among its members. This has lead to the development of new pastors who have gone forth from the church to lead their own ministries in other areas.

Permentant Missions Outreaches
Missions to foreign lands and people have also been a significant focus at our church. Our most prominent missions outreach has been to a small town in Pena Blanca, Honduras. In the Summer of '10 we will be dedicating a new church in Pena Blanca which will be pastored by Chris Rivera. Chris Rivera and his wife have been leading this outreach for several years in an effort to reach the lost in the area. Additionally, Chris has aided and supervised a small school in Pena Blanca, which has been supported in-part by numerous attendees of Calvary Chapel East.
